Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
