Devoted followers of the pop star are urging that a man who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared footage shows the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the actors walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was due to attend court on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed features recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being

Many supporters criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said one more response on Instagram.

Several fans also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of attendees had congregated in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-film version of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely relationship between two distinct witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and scored 10 Academy Award nods, winning several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
