A extended journey around Australia is being halted in the wake of the death of an elderly woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a distant tropical isle.

Head of the shipping company announced that guests and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were told that the rest of the voyage had been called off due to the "tragic passing and earlier technical problems".

In a statement, he mentioned that passengers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to organize the travel back of the passengers via private aircraft".

Authorities also published an revised communication, and said they had "issued a directive to the Captain" preventing any further travelers from entering the ship.

The official said that they would attend the liner in the port city upon its return.
